Launch of first Destress for Kids’ Success Day
WHAT: On Wednesday Nov. 6, 2019 (International Stress Awareness Day), Kids Help Phone will be launching the first Destress for Kids’ Success campaign in Toronto and will take it to cities all across Canada. Stress is a growing problem in today’s society with people of all ages. Roughly 42 per cent of teens say they are feeling stressed, with teens closer to 18 years of age being at about 50 per cent. The Destress for Kids’ Success Day will be dedicated to allowing kids and teens have a day of relaxation and to learn helpful ways to destress at home.

WHY: In Canada, 49 per cent of kids ages 13 to 18 say a major factor of stress in their lives is the pressure maintain good grades in school. Bullying and family issues are other factors causing stress at such a young age. Destress for Kids’ Success is all about what the name implies. Kids will learn how to deal with their stress in a healthy way and get a day to relax as a bonus.
