Santa Claus Zooming to Welland to visit kids for Christmas
WELLAND/Nov. 12, 2020 - Santa will be staying safe at the North Pole this year, but that won’t stop him from seeing all the little girls and boys. The Welland Downtown BIA, City of Welland and the Welland Public Library have partnered to organize “Santa: Live from the North Pole”; an event that will allow the children of Welland to virtually visit with Santa Claus in the weeks leading up to Christmas. The City of Welland will be sponsoring Santa for this event and MYAC (Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council) will be helping as Santa’s elves.
On Saturday, Dec. 5th and 12th from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m, kids will be able to connect directly with Santa via Zoom and have the opportunity to tell him what they’d like for Christmas. Each child will receive a book from the Library with a magnetic picture commemorating their virtual visit with Santa. Registration will be conducted through the Welland Downtown BIA by emailing info@downtownwelland.ca. Upon submitting a registration request, the registrant will receive a confirmation email with a date and time slot and will be sent a Zoom call link at least 24 hours before the call date. Santa will only be able to talk to 35 children maximum per date, so be sure to register early to avoid disappointment.
